December of 2015 we found out we were going to be a family of 5! We were so excited but waited to tell everyone until I was past the first trimester and well into the second. Over Spring Break we told Liam and Emily the good news. Emily shouted with joy over the news of a new baby brother and Liam said his prayers were answered.
July 28th I went to the doctor for a routine visit then came back home. I was having contractions all week but each night they went away. Not this day though. My water broke around 4pm and we arrived to the hospital at 6pm. At 9:40pm Jacob Ryan was born. He was 6lbs 11oz and 19 1/4 inches long.
Our first picture when we arrived in our hospital room.
The next morning Liam and Emily came to meet their new baby. It was love at first sight.
We stayed in the hospital less that 48 hours! I think they thought I was an experienced mom of three and they needed the hospital bed. I was hoping for another night in the nursery before having months of sleepless nights.
Jacob is the size of bitty baby!
I love the pout lip in this picture. I do not remember Liam and Emily giving us such a lip and when he cries it quivers. He is so cute!
I forgot how small they are when they come home and how quickly they grow. Their cute little noises and wonderful baby smell.
We had a lot of help and visitors with Jacobs arrival. Thank you to everyone who helped us welcome our new bundle of joy.
Jacob's belly button took a long time to heal so he had many sponge baths before his first tub bath. He loves to kick and splash in the water. I look forward to taking him to the pool this summer.
One of his first smiles caught on camera. He is such a happy guy.
From the beginning Jacob loved to sleep on his tummy. For the first 4 months he slept in the rock n play. We are trying to get him sleeping in the crib all night but he still wakes up for milk and snuggles.
Having a baby with two older kids has been a lot of fun. Not only does he adore them, they feel the same about him. Liam and Emily are great helpers too. They like to sing to him, read him stories, pick out his clothes, and make him laugh. I feel so lucky to have them and my wonderful supportive husband.
